Stockinette for cold storage and logistics
In storage, the enemy is the dry, moving air of the chiller and freezer. A tight knitted cover slows surface drying and protects the carcass during handling and loading.

What we supply
- Tight fit reduces surface dehydration and freezer burn
- Protects against handling marks during loading
- Polyester and blends perform well in frozen storage
- Clean, compact carcasses for re-hanging and dispatch

Questions from cold storage & logistics
Does stockinette prevent freezer burn?
It reduces it. A tight-fitting cover limits air movement across the carcass surface, which slows the moisture loss that causes freezer burn. Our guide on preventing carcass freezer burn explains the science.
Cotton or polyester stockinette: which should I choose?
Choose 100% cotton when absorbency and a natural fibre matter (fresh lamb and beef, blood and moisture wicking). Choose polyester or a poly-cotton blend when you need higher tensile strength, less lint and better performance in frozen storage or long export routes. Many buyers use poly-cotton as the balanced option.
