Lamb stockinette size guide

Small-ruminant carcasses vary a lot within a day's kill. Sizing by weight band keeps every carcass covered tightly.

A lamb plant may handle carcasses from light spring lamb to heavy mutton in the same week. One size cannot fit them all well.

Size by weight band

StepWhat to do
1List the carcass weights you process in a typical week
2Group them into two or three bands
3Measure hanging length and widest circumference in each band
4Note hanging method (by the legs or gambrel)
5Send the figures to us for a recommended width and length

Rolls or pre-cut bags?

Continuous rolls suit automated applicators and high-volume lines. Pre-cut bags with a closed end suit manual lines and seasonal peaks.

Material and stretch

Cotton stretches and absorbs well for fresh lamb; poly-cotton adds strength for export. See cotton vs polyester.

Next step: send us your carcass type, weight range and monthly volume through the quote form and we will reply with a recommended specification within 24 hours.
